Working for the preeminent culinary retailer has countless perks. The discount on superior appliances and products along with access to great culinary minds standout as obvious benefits, but it is working with the public that provides the greatest perk of all. Day after day, associates act as problem solvers, technical experts, and culinary specialists. During the hectic holiday rush, associates deliver unparalleled service and knowledge with a dose of cheer. Whether it is a greeter offering a guest a sample or the unseen green shirted team member climbing the stockroom rafters to find the last Technivorm in the state, associates aim to reward gift givers, party planners and home chefs with extraordinary and unique shopping experiences.
From the beginning of September until December 24th, the holiday selling season involves daily tastings and free weekly classes focusing on meal planning, cooking and entertaining. The store is a reference library filled pantry with a sales support team on the side. A restaurant it is not. This seasoned associate would like to gently suggest some tips to guests for Holiday 2015: Culinary experts prepare samples for guests to experience a taste not a meal! Nespresso demonstrations are just that… demos, not free venti cafè lattes (both Starbucks and Peet’s are within 50 yards). Loading a handbag with samples of peppermint bark and pumpkin bread sets a bad example for children in-tow. The four-ounce cup overflowing with five-ounces of hot chocolate will settle onto the wood floor creating a slick hazard for guests and associates. Feeding a child handfuls of peppermint bark may temporarily pacify whiney behavior but the fall from the sugar high will make for a very pleasant ride home.
Gather. Cook. Eat. Repeat.
